Rose Masterpol is a contemporary abstract painter with a career spanning over three decades. Her work, characterized by bold color, organic forms, and non-objective compositions, is deeply influenced by her diverse creative background, including poetry, music, sculpture, landscape photography, and graphic design. Painting primarily with acrylic and oil on large canvases, her work is a dynamic blend of instinct, intuition, and technical mastery, balancing raw energy with refined structure.
Self-taught as a painter, Masterpol's process remains unbound by formal constraints, allowing her work to evolve fluidly. Her abstractions draw inspiration from movements such as De Stijl, Fauvism, and Abstract Expressionism, with influences from the New York School painters, including Pollock, de Kooning, Kline, and Motherwell.
A graduate of CalArts with a BFA in graphic design, Masterpol has also worked extensively in the advertising industry as a creative director. Now a full-time artist, her work is collected worldwide and represented in galleries across the United States.
