I am a still life painter. One of the most significant considerations of my work is Light. Placement and metaphoric associations are very important. The placement of objects has become more and more fascinating to me. Just as a stranger standing to close to you can bother you or intrigue you, the placement of objects does that too. The feel of a space is strongly affected by the light in the room. Light is what gives objects their form. Playing around with how much information is needed to create form is where the magic in painting is for me.
